You shouldn’t need to clean the sponge because you'll be using it every day in the shower. What IS important is allowing it to air dry between uses to prevent mold from forming. The Konjac Sponge is impregnated with activated charcoal, which has antimicrobial properties to help keep your sponge free from bacteria. 

If you wish to sterilise your sponge, we suggest soaking it in warm, soapy water. Please do not use boiling water, as it may damage the sponge – it is a plant, after all!
