Will The Deodorant Balm stain my clothes?Updated 8 months ago
Our formula is designed not to cause stains on clothes. If white marks appear, they should come off with a damp sponge or in the wash. This typically occurs if clothes are put on too soon after applying the balm. Allow the powder in the formula to settle and absorb into the skin to prevent this.
While our formula contains a small amount of clear essential oils for fragrance, it's important to note that sweat can vary in color, including yellow, green, blue, brown, black, or clear. Any yellowing on clothes is likely due to a natural pigment in sweat called lipofuscin.
What is Lipofuscin?
Lipofuscin is a yellow-brown pigment composed of lipid-containing residues of lysosomal digestion. It accumulates in the body as a result of aging or oxidative stress. This pigment is naturally produced in the sweat glands and can cause discolouration in areas where sweat is more prevalent. While lipofuscin is harmless, its presence can sometimes be noticeable on clothing, especially in the underarm area.
